First of all, let me say that is a complete application. Unlike some shareware programs I've seen of late, none of the Pro Predictor 2.1S routines are crippled and it isn't going to suddendly stop working after you've used it a specific number of times or when it reaches a certain date!
However, it is a shareware application, which means that if you use it and like it, you're supposed to reward the programmer by sending in the shareware fee. Now, I know that most of you fully intend to send in the fee but before you know it the season's over and... In the meantime, however, you're missing the satisfaction of having sent in the fee and receiving the Register User's version.
I figure for those who go to all the trouble of sending in the shareware fee, there should be something extra. So, when I receive the fee, I immediately send the Register User's version, which has several functions that the shareware version does not have. These include the following:
1. A Betting Module for picking winners against the "Vegas" odds. Last year, Pro Predictor's best bets agains the odds beat the odds 75% of the time and 83% of its underdog picks won! Even if you're not a betting person, it fun to see how you would do and how much money you would win.
2. Injury Reports. When a player sustains an injury, tell Pro Predictor the injured player's position and Pro Predictor will adjust the team's power points automatically. This will improve its accuracy in picking winners.
3. Archive Files back to 1970, the year of the NFL-AFL merger. Just set the Track Last Years to "all" and you'll be surprised at what you can learn about your favorite team. Who has the best W-L record since the merger? Does your team have a jinx over some teams or does it have some weeks where it usually wins?

I think you're going to like this newest version of Pro Predictor. It has several new routines and a better user interface that makes it easier to go from one routine to another.
• • Here are some things you should know before running Pro Predictor, Version 2.1.
• New File System: Version 2.1 will not recognize files from older versions. You must replace your old files with the Pro Files compacted with Version 2.1. I've changed the Finder application code and the file codes for Pro Predictor so clicking on an old file will NOT bring up Version 2.1. The files are now more condensed and shorter than the older versions.
• Adjusting Power Points. Unlike version 1.1, alter a team's power points during the season has a lasting effect. Pro Predictor will factoring in the adjustment as it updates each subsequent week's power points. Therefore, if you change a team's power rating because of an injury and the injured player returns later on, you should re-adjust the points for the week he returns.
• PRO 1992 has the schedule entered. I've already entered some adjustments to the Power points for Philadelphia, San Diego, and Indianapolis. Because of the death of Jerome Brown, I figured about a 3 point loss for Philadelphia. But, with the return of the quarterback Cunningham, it came to a net gain of 2.6. For Indianapolis, I took off 4 pts because of the loss of their starting quarterback. But for San Diego, I took off only 2 points because they traded for Humphries to replace their injured starting quarterback.
• Pro Predictor is System 7 Friendly and will run in 32bit addressing. Also, it is now compatible with AutoDoubler. When AutoDoubler compacts Pro Predictor or the PRO files, it doesn't seem to slow down the program very much.
• More Preference Options. Check out the Preferences Item under the File Menu. You can set the font structures to suit your own preferences. And, if your screen is larger than the 9 inch SE-Plus screen you can set the amount of screen alloted to Pro Predictor.
• Better User Interface. You can now switch from one routine to another through the Menu items without having to go back to the logo screen first. Also, after you enter data, you'll be sent directly to the view routine relevent to that data. The Print Windows item under the File Menu now applies to any window on the screen, not just the multiple window routines.
• I hope this won't happen but if the program seems to hang (no Menu available and no logo screen), press the Command key and type a period. This will break the program. Then when you see the dialog box asking if you want to quit Pro Predictor, indicated NO. The break will return you to the main screen with the Menu items functioning and your data will not be lost.
